Troopa and Google Meet’s Gemini: what each does in your meetings

If your company runs on Google Workspace, Gemini already takes notes in Meet and puts them in Google Docs, in the meeting organiser’s Drive, with a summary, decisions, action items and next steps. It is good at it.

Every row was checked against Google’s own documentation. An earlier version of this page argued a difference in keeping decisions across meetings, which Troopa does only where it has been switched on, so the argument is gone.

Every row below was checked against Google’s own documentation on 29 September 2026. Spotted something out of date? Tell us and we will correct it and say when.

Notes in your Drive, or answers in the room

Google’s notes are the closest of the three to what we do: a document for each meeting with a summary, the decisions and the next steps, in the Drive where everything else lives. Ask Gemini in Meet answers typed questions during the call, privately to each person, from the captions, the Workspace files they can open and Google search.

Troopa is asked out loud. Anybody it can hear may say “Hi Troopa”, and the answer appears on the screen of the person running Troopa; presented and shared, the whole meeting reads it. It works the same way on Teams and Zoom, and keeps its notes in Troopa, in the region your organisation chose.

Where Gemini in Meet is the better choice

Be honest with yourself about this, because it is often the right answer.

Your meetings are in Meet and your documents are in Drive

The notes land in Google Docs in Drive, where everything else already lives, from a company you already use. That is a real advantage and we do not have an answer to it.Google Meet Help, take notes for me →

Everyone should be able to ask their own questions, privately

Ask Gemini in Meet keeps each person’s questions and answers to themselves. Troopa’s answers go to the person running it, and to the whole meeting only when they present Troopa.Google Meet Help, Ask Gemini in Meet →
